History
UZINEXPORT S.A. is one of the main Romanian Companies acting for more than 40 years in the International market of industrial projects.
During this period the company has undergone through a lot of changes, as follows :
December 1960 - A specialized department for the import of complete processing lines and equipment is established within the existing MASINEXPORT company.
April 1966 - A new company named ISCE INDUSTRIALIMPORT is founded, taking over the already existing department for import and export activities for industrial projects. This is considered to be our actual "birth certificate".
January 1970 - A new company under the name of ISCE UZINEXPORT is founded and the entire activity for export of complete processing lines is taken over by it.
March 1971 - A new company under the name of ISCE METAROM is founded , taking over all related activities for the metallurgical sector from the former ISCE INDUSTRIALIMPORT.
May 1973 - The old ICE UZINEXPORTIMPORT is reestablished , as a specialized Foreign Trade company.
March 1975 - A Cement Plants Division is attached and re-organized as a specialized department in UZINEXPORTIMPORT.
December 1981 - The power plants Division got separated from UZINEXPORTIMPORT and a newly founded company under the name of ROMENERGO is established.
February 1985 - The Food Processing Equipment Division got separated from UZINEXPORTIMPORT and got attached to the existing INDUSTRIALIMPORTEXPORT.
June 1987 - The Ships and Shipyards Division is attached to UZINEXPORITMPORT.
November 1990 - The new SC UZINEXPORTIMPORT S.A. is established taking over the head office building and the whole field of activity of the former ISCE UZINEXPORTIMPORT.
January 1992 - UZINEXPORTIMPORT S.A. became a member of the Romanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
1995 - UZINEXPORTIMPORT S.A. became a founding member of the Association of the Romanian Exporters and Importers (ANEIR)
1995 - UZINEXPORTIMPORT S.A. became a full member of the Association of the Romanian Businessmen (AOAR)
May 1997 - UZINEXPORTIMPORT S.A. finalized the privatization program of the company's stocks.
1997 - The new Head Office is inaugurated and becomes one of the Bucharest land marks.
1999 - The name of the company is changed into UZINEXPORT S.A.
During all these changes, the company changed also several times the Head Office Building, this being by itself a sort of live history of the Bucharest down town area, besides the proper history of the company.
